Wrapped up in silence…

Writer’s block has been kicking my ass lately. I have four projects I’ve been stabbing at and I haven’t been making much of any progress on any of them. At least nothing that doesn’t sound like crap when I read it back again.

I’m not really surprised by this development. But it doesn’t make it any less aggravating.

I’ve been listening to the Ben & Marina soundtrack in hopes of sparking some inspiration on that project. Not sure it’s working in that respect, but I really do love the playlist itself.

I’ve been trying to work out some of the problem areas in that story—aside from the severe lack of narrative, but that’s a whole other issue on its own—and I realized one major change that needs to be made regarding a specific group of characters. The realization being I think I need to revert the group back to what it was in an older version of the story. I really like these characters as they are, but in the context of the overall story, they don’t quite work the way I want them too. Reverting things back to an older version makes them fall into place a little easier. And it will allow me to bring back a few details I didn’t really want to cut out in the first place. Also using existing characters is a bonus because I don’t have to build new ones from scratch.

Again.

Which I have done far too many times with this particular project.

Of course this is going to cause me to have to rewrite huge chunks of what is already written, but I’m going to have to do that with a lot of the existing material anyway because there is too much conflicting information going as it is.

That’s what I get for writing things out of order.

I’m starting to think I’m the one causing this to be the reunion FROM HELL. It doesn’t have anything to do with the events in the story. It’s ME constantly changing and rewriting characters.

But it’s how I roll.

And I’ll just hit play on the soundtrack again.

Between…other…playlists I’ve been keeping on a constant loop.
