Dreamweaver…part two…

I hate when dreams make sense. There’s this bizarre phenomenon that occurs sometimes wherein I dream about one of my story projects as the story is happening and it’s all very real. It doesn’t usually have the same cracked-out elements of a typical dream, things make sense. While things tend to be slightly different than how they’re being written in reality, they play out in the dream in a way that isn’t all that unfathomable…. Keep reading…Dreamweaver…part two…

Dreamweaver…

Several weeks ago I had this convoluted dream. I was yanked from sleep by Bob’s alarm so I don’t know where it ended and when I gained some semblance of coherence I thought to myself, “I seriously need to quit smoking crack before bed.” As I drifted in and out of sleep as Bob got ready for work that day, I mulled over the details of that dream, most of which escape me now, and… Keep reading…Dreamweaver…

Broke into the old apartment…

I have this…cache…of story projects deemed “Never See the Light of Day.” It’s named as such because they are all completely inane plans that tend to border on a touch weird. At least in my mind. It’s mostly random conversation snippets that crop up in my head between given characters, but… Keep reading…Broke into the old apartment…

Am I right side up or upside down…

I’m not sure which is more frustrating, having a storyline I can’t seem to get the characters right for, or having a pile of characters I can’t find a story to put them into? I find myself struggling with the latter more than the former at the moment, but mostly because I just don’t have any decent storylines to work with right now. I have a few ideas rolling around, but nothing that could really… Keep reading…Am I right side up or upside down…

Counting the cost and keeping score…

In the past week, I have written about sixteen pages worth of random conversations centering around a new-ish story idea. If I were to proceed with this idea and write this story, most of these scenes would likely be unusable as they are mostly mundane drivel. The writing itself isn’t all that bad. The conversations just don’t exactly make for riveting reading. The point is…I’ve been writing. It’s been well over six months since I… Keep reading…Counting the cost and keeping score…

back-dated 03/12/09: it’s a catch 22…

I’ve been reading through a lot of old journal entries lately. I have so many journal “projects” around, it’s a wonder I can keep them all straight. What I’ve found out by going back to the archives, is the fact that I am a capable writer. I do have some sliver of talent. I’m by no means best-selling author material, but I don’t suck. What gets me is most of the “good” stuff I’ve read… Keep reading…back-dated 03/12/09: it’s a catch 22…
