The waiting game…

Saturday we went out and looked at four different houses. Two of which we really liked. One we made an offer on……after much debate on which one best suited our needs, required less work, et al.

Monday they came back with a counter offer. We countered their counter offer.

And now we’re waiting to see what they say about our counter-counter offer.

Waiting…waiting…waiting…Hoping…Hoping…HOPING……..

Last Thursday after I got out of the shower, I was toweling off my glasses and they snapped clean in half at the bridge. The lens fell out.

Well shit.

I put my contacts in (SAND IN MY EYES), got dressed, and Bob and I headed out the door to Sears Optical (where I got them) to see if they could be fixed.

They couldn’t.

But they were able to finagle my lenses into a pair of different frames as a temporary solution while they checked to see if they could still order the frames I currently had. They’re two years old. The situation didn’t seem promising.

It wasn’t.

I got a call on Friday to tell me they were unable to order the same frames. So I scheduled an eye exam—since it’s been two years—and went in on Tuesday…yesterday. I just scheduled it with Sears Optical to take care of everything in one place. I got my glasses there last time because it was about half the price of Park Nicollet and I was poor. I’m still poor (as I still have a hard time considering Bob’s money “our money” even though we’re married) and Park Nicollet is on my Shit List anyway. So I figured instead of messing around with multiple locations, just go to Sears. They were nice enough to accommodate my broken glasses at no charge, I’ll give them my business. Glasses and eye exam were still less than half the price of what I would have paid at Park Nicollet (just for the glasses), so I’m calling it a win. Especially since our shit-tastic insurance doesn’t cover eye exams. But we do have a “vision discount” plan. Whatever the hell that means.

Now I just have to wait 10 to 14 days to get my new glasses.

In case you were wondering……GIANT PLASTIC FRAMES are back in style, kids. Christ on a bike are you kidding me?

I picked out a pair of kids’ frames. They’re small and wire and FIT MY FACE.

I do not conform to fashion trends. Just so you know.

Something to say?
