So last year one of my very favorite local musicians Tim Mahoney took a run at the new talent competition The Voice. I was stupidly excited for this. Though I only watched the relevant pieces of the show to see how he fared. And then Adam Levine chose a helium voice and big boobs over talent and I promptly stopped watching the show.
And then this happened:
Which was awesome. And he should be more famous because of it.
The new season of The Voice apparently starts after the Super Bowl. And today I saw this tweet.
Tony Lucca was one of my very favorite Mouseketeers. He had the music talent then. He’s an incredible music talent now. He should be famous. Seriously.
So this begs a question or two…
#… If he succeeds, does he automatically go to “Team Christina” because they have a piece of shared history? (I kinda hope not because that woman irritates the holy hell out of me, but that’s beside the point.)
#… In a blind audition will Christina recognize his voice? I will be personally offended if she doesn’t turn around.
#… I have no delusions that they were BFFs on that show…she was…twelve? and he was…eighteen? But seriously…worlds are colliding here and I can’t be the only one busting a vein in my forehead over it.
Regardless, I’ll tune in…as soon as it’s available on Hulu and skip through to the relevant parts. And I’ll watch as long as he’s on the show.
Color me stupidly excited all over again.
