My laptop is dead. Bob set up shop to see what could be done, did some googling of symptoms and found a probable cause of the machine’s demise. There is a known problem with heat causing the soldering to come loose on the graphics chip and once that gets knocked out of place, there’s really no fixing it. The tumble the laptop took off the ottoman, while not severe, was probably enough to knock loose… Keep reading…Figures…
Slept about two hours last night. Calling it a victory because I haven’t been able to stay in bed to sleep at night for over a week now. About 3AM, I was perusing the intarwebz when my computer screen went black. And there it sat. I had to do a hard shut down and restart (it wanted Safe Mode) and it took 3 tries restarting to get it functional again. Things seemed to be running… Keep reading…FML…
I was looking for an old graphic file on my hard drive. I ended up falling into a bottomless pit of some ridiculously bad graphics once designed for website pipe dreams gone by. I also found a metric fuckton of web pages, code, and whathaveyou for all of those long-dead website plans.
