Count the Stars Above…

You are MAGIC!

February. This year is off to a rollicking good start, no? Jesus. Fucking. Christ. If I said what I really want to say, I’d be put on a watch list. There are enough news stories in the past week alone about people getting raided and arrested for mouthing off on the internet. I am so fucking exhausted. Anyway. Is it really just a lead-in to the monthly Last.fm stats if it’s 1200-some-odd words? …) We… Keep reading…Count the Stars Above…

Halloween Blizzard 2024

Happy Halloween? It certainly wasn’t The Halloween Blizzard of 1991 (TM), but Minnesota was still very Minnesota-y for the occasion. Pouring rain that turned into snow that turned into slush. Slush everywhere. State Patrol reported 169 accidents between midnight and 2PM. Because people forget that they have lived in Minnesota their entire lives and cannot remember how to fucking drive the first time it snows for the season. Big, flurrying snowflakes. But it’s too warm for it to accumulate, so at least there’s that. … The giant, messy, two-plus-year road construction project outside our front door has picked up again for the season and they’re going to start tearing out… Keep reading…Avoid the Headlines…

In a winter mood…

SNOOOOOOW...

April. We ended up getting somewhere around six inches of snow. Which is really just a guess by looking at the footprints in our driveway from the snow removal guys who walked through it. I didn’t go out there with a ruler or anything. (It also upgraded us to the third snowiest winter on record.) They came through Saturday afternoon and shoveled the snow off the front steps and away from garage doors (because the… Keep reading…In a winter mood…

Move it to the exits…

Just what in the fuck?

March. Alright then. … Closing Time came out 25 years ago today. First of all, rude. Second, this means that this June marks twenty-five years since I graduated high school. Third, Hunter turned 25 years old in January. As I said, RUDE. … Last weekend marked four months since Joe died. We got together at my parents’ house on Saturday to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday (the 5th). EIGHTY. Neither of my parents are interested… Keep reading…Move it to the exits…
