Big surprise, right?
We knew it was inevitable because of how much snow we’ve had already this winter. Plus the unit right next door had a crew out just days ago cleaning a dam off their roof. We’re finally getting into a forecasted long stretch of above-freezing temperatures and all that melting can only lead to one place. Right on schedule yesterday afternoon, water started running out of the living room window frame. AND! As an additional bonus this year, water has also been running out of the light switch on the same wall that controls the ceiling fan/light. (Right down the wall into the outlet below. Oh hey electrical hazard, how’s things?) That’s a new one.
Bob sent an email to the HOA management company today and she contacted the go-to crew. By some bizarre miracle they were already in the area clearing another roof and had an opening right after so they were able to get here TODAY and clear things out. Usually we have to wait a few days to finally get someone here.
Here’s hoping this is the only time we need this, this year. But we’re still in the first half of January. So. I’m not holding my breath.
Anyway.
