Week 50.
We are two weeks away from the one year mark of when Bob started working from home because of a Global Fucking Pandemic.
What.
The Actual.
Fuck.
Anyway.
The thing about making a habit of only posting once a month as a lead-in to my monthly Last.fm stats, is that even when I feel like I have something else to write about, I feel like I need to preface it with some sort of OH MY GAWD I’M ACTUALLY POSTING SOMETHING OTHER THAN LAST.FM STATS bullshit. It feels like I can’t just write a normal post for the sake of a normal post without some sort of commentary on the occasion. When I was living over on LiveJournal I posted something almost every day. Sometimes multiple times a day. I didn’t think twice about it. When I moved over here, I posted whenever I felt compelled to do so. And then something happened and I practically stopped posting altogether because reasons. I started posting my monthly Last.fm stats to feel like I was actually using this domain that I pay too much fucking money for, but don’t want to give up. It’s not that I don’t want to write here. I do. But every time I try outside of these stupid monthly lead-ins, an obnoxious paralysis hits and I just stare at a blinking cursor wondering how to get past that overwhelming feeling of obligation to acknowledge the fact that I’m actually posting something else. Or I start writing something, decide it’s utter shit and delete it. Then I walk away until the next turn of the calendar.
This is my brain and welcome to it.
At the beginning of February Final Fantasy XIV had an Announcement Showcase in lieu of one of their typical Fan Festivals because PANDEMIC. They announced expansion 6.0 for “Fall 2021”—which could be anywhere between September and November. Most likely the later half of things. They’ll finally be wrapping up the Ascian story arc and we are very excited over here in ye olde Bear Cave.

I’m still slogging away at getting all of my jobs leveled up to 80 to get my Amaro mount. I finally finished getting everything to level 50. Now I just need to get the last of them up to 70 for that final stretch to 80. I have the loose goal of finishing all that by the time the expansion comes out, but it certainly isn’t set in stone by any means. I just want the big fluffy bird-thing to ride around on. Because bird-thing.
In the meantime, I’ll just hang out with my tiny Amaro pet.
