Avoid the Headlines…

Because seriously. … They finally showed up about dinnertime on Sunday to plow our driveway. After it was half melted. Whatever. … It’s snowing. Or it was last I looked out the window. Big, flurrying snowflakes. But it’s too warm for it to accumulate, so at least there’s that. … The giant, messy, two-plus-year road construction project outside our front door has picked up again for the season and they’re going to start tearing out… Keep reading…Avoid the Headlines…

In a winter mood…

April. We ended up getting somewhere around six inches of snow. Which is really just a guess by looking at the footprints in our driveway from the snow removal guys who walked through it. Move it to the exits…

March. Alright then. … Closing Time came out 25 years ago today. First of all, rude. Second, this means that this June marks twenty-five years since I graduated high school. Third, Hunter turned 25 years old in January. As I said, RUDE. … Last weekend marked four months since Joe died. We got together at my parents’ house on Saturday to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday (the 5th). EIGHTY. Neither of my parents are interested… Keep reading…Move it to the exits…

Thunderheads were forming…

Do you remember fashion plates? I never had them, and I don’t remember who did, but I remember somebody had them when I was a kid. (Cousins maybe?) They popped into my head recently as a certain gremlin muse was Frankenstein-ing another batch of ideas together. I had the thought that cutting parts out of multiple story ideas and sticking them together to make something else reminded me of fashion plates—mix and match the different… Keep reading…Thunderheads were forming…
