On to something big…

Apparently 34 is the age at which I get stupidly excited for a new freezer in my house.

Who knew?

We’ve been planning for an upright freezer pretty much since we moved into our house. It wasn’t a priority and we wanted to make sure we had the money to pay for it outright. We’ve been doing that with most of our big ticket purchases. We figure out what kind of budget we need to make it happen and then plan our spending accordingly. In turn, we don’t have excess credit building up. It’s working out so far.

We’ve had the money for a freezer for awhile, but for whatever reason we just…didn’t buy one. We were all geared up to actually make a purchase when the washing machine decided to fuck off. Since we had no idea how much that repair was going to cost, and the dryer sat in the kitchen for two weeks, we put off the freezer until we got the washing machine sorted.

Yay home ownership!

That corner of the kitchen hasn’t been that clean or empty since we moved in.

We finally got the damn freezer ordered and it was delivered on Friday after Christmas.

Merry Christmas to us, I suppose.

Lookit all that space. It’s so tempting to fill it up with frozen pizza and frozen yogurt and call it a day.

Instead we emptied everything from the small freezer into the new freezer because we want to troubleshoot the ice maker that hasn’t worked since shortly after we moved in. We suspect a blockage somewhere, but we’re not appliance experts so it’s tough to say.

Regardless.

New! Freezer!

Now when we’re grocery shopping and looking at frozen food, we don’t have to take into account how much space we have in our tiny little cubby over the fridge.

Adulthood.

It’s exciting shit, Kids.

Jealous?

I knew you would be.

  1. Nice freezer! Now, you can plan freezer meals. Spend a day prepping a whole bunch of meals, and freeze them to cook later. Then, when you’re stuck wondering “what’s for dinner?” you can just open up the freezer and grab something good.
BTW, I’m going to start selling Wildtree stuff soon (probably) and they have some good freezer meal ideas. Just so you know.

    1. I’d love to get into making freezer meals. I’m so bad at planning ahead for dinner. The biggest challenge will be getting the prep work done. Actually getting into the kitchen is my biggest hurdle. Once I get started it’s not so bad, but getting started is nearly impossible most days. All part of the fun of ADHD I guess.

Something to say?
