Something about chocolate…

The only time I listen to the radio is in the car. And that’s only when we’re out running errands. If I’m going any distance, it’s CDs or the iPod depending on which one of us is driving.

Yet with as little as I actually listen to the radio, I swear I hear the same damn song every time I’m in the car.

It has a poppy beat you can dance to and would probably be fun to sing along with, except I can’t understand a damn word the guy is singing. And the DJs never seem to announce what the song is.

Par for the course.

It’s like Back to Believing all over again.

(Which reminds me…I need to put the Drive List on the iPod now that I have space for it…)

Anyway.

Last night we were in the car and this song came on the radio right as we were getting home. I made mental note to go to the Cities 97 website to look it up on the recently played list…and promptly forgot as soon as I walked in the door. Par for the course. Later, sitting at my desk, I remembered the song, though it was too late to find it in the recently played list. So I looked at the current top played songs for the station and deduced by Youtube search I was looking for Chocolate by The 1975.

And then I had to go look up the lyrics to follow along because I still could not understand a single word that kid was saying.

Upon preview of some of their other songs…still couldn’t understand more than a word or two. I don’t know if it’s the accent, the diction, or my feeble brain, but it might as well be in a foreign language for me.

If I could make out the words, I might actually listen to the band.

You know…

If I could remember to.

  1. I have done exactly the same thing! That song drives me crazy, because it will get stuck in my head, and I can’t even understand the words that are drumming through my head!

Something to say?
