August is almost over and I actually considered just saying FUCKIT to the July Last.fm stats, but here we are.
Week 75…76…whatever…
Everything is still shitty so we’re still counting weeks.
Anyway.
It has actually rained a few times in the last week (there is a whole lot of rumbling thunder as I type) so the humidity is up to make the incessant 80/90-something temperatures more disgusting. But the extended forecast is promising a drop into the seventies after the first of the month and goddammit Weather Channel you better not be fucking lying to me.
Basil has gotten all what-if-y again and now there are new branching plotlines for the story monstrosity that has been eating my brain for the last…however the hell long it’s been since December 2019.
Yes, I realize you’re 80-some-thousand words into this not-even-close-to-finished disaster, but WHAT IF, halfway through, THIS happened instead? It won’t fix a damn thing, but it’s going to eat at your brain until you write it. So. You. Are. Welcome.

And yes, I will write it, because I’m not writing anything else at the moment and I might as well get it down on the page because why the hell not?
He’s also been what-if-ing on a much older idea that has always vexed me because I couldn’t get the characters right. A new cast list probably won’t fix it—considering I’ve overhauled the damn thing multiple times—but renewed inspiration to write ANYTHING is something I don’t take lightly.
