Sunday the 1st: 90 degrees
Monday the 2nd: 88 degrees
Tuesday the 3rd: 85 degrees
Wednesday the 4th: 63 degrees
Right then.
We had like, a week of open windows in September, then it got hot again. Then it cooled down, but it rained practically every day so it was 90-some percent humidity, then it got hot again. Now we’ve had a twenty-degree temperature drop and the current forecast says it’s going to stay that way, so here’s hoping the weather will STOP PLAYING WITH MY EMOTIONS.
There is a pack of wild turkeys that periodically come moseying through our neighborhood. Usually we only see them around the beginning of fall, but they showed up a few times over the summer this year too. Typically we see them in groups of three or five, but today there were TEN ambling through. Bob noticed them out the living room window under our tree and only saw three of them. I went to look out the bedroom window and counted ten. I wasn’t fast enough grabbing my phone to take a picture to catch them all, but we’ve never seen that many at once around here.
Later I happened by the bedroom window again and saw something big moving in the trees at the edge of our development and pretty soon two turkeys came strolling out. One of them stopped by the neighbor’s tree to snack on the bird feeder spillage before something caught its attention and it trotted off after its buddy.
They are ugly, massive birds, but it’s still fun when they come by. Living close to a river has its perks, I suppose.
They’re rather unperturbed by the Last.fm stats though.

We spent a lot of time listening to Panic‘s Viva Las Vengeance album. According to iTunes I hadn’t listened to it since last year after I got through the initial listen to nothing else after it was released. After time away from it, I definitely like it more than I did on those early listens. I still wouldn’t rank it up as a favorite, but it has grown on me.
