Banana Bread…

…of the lower fat variety no less. I’m not crazy about bananas. But they are one of only a handful of fruits I can eat without the inside of my mouth inflaming and itching like a son-of-a-mother and my lips getting puffy. (Fun times, believe you me.) So I eat them. Additionally, I’m really not crazy about bananas mixed with other things. Unless we’re talking a strawberry-banana smoothie—I’m all for those. But anything else mixed… Keep reading…Banana Bread…

Teriyaki Chicken…

Years ago my mom got this recipe from my aunt for Teriyaki Chicken. My aunt, if memory serves, got the recipe from a friend native to Japan. Mom made it a few times, and then it got stuffed in the cabinet with all of the other unused recipes. My dad would never touch it with a ten-foot pole, so it was eventually forgotten about. When I was collecting recipes from my mom after we moved,… Keep reading…Teriyaki Chicken…

And then I came across a recipe titled Baked Southwestern Eggrolls and I read on. Baked…no frying, no grease. Also healthier. Southwestern…that generally implies a Mexican inspired food. Finding a cheesecake recipe that isn’t overly complicated is damn near impossible. Put it in a water bath exactly three inches deep, bake it for six hours at 100 degrees, leave it sitting in the oven for three hours with the door open after it’s done… Keep reading…Pumpkin Cheesecake…

Mint Brownies…

When I had a job, I worked in an office that was a big fan of potlucks. One of my coworkers [almost] always brought in Mint Brownies to share. They were generally devoured by the end of the work day because they were so freaking good. When I was copying recipes from my mom, I found she had the recipe for Lilly’s famous mint brownies. So I added that to my list. I’ve been wanting… Keep reading…Mint Brownies…

Cinnamon Rolls…

Every time I see a recipe for cinnamon rolls I think, “ooh…maybe I could make those.” And it is the most labor intensive recipe EVER. So I move right along without saving or bookmarking. Whilst perusing some food blogs recently, I came across a new recipe for cinnamon rolls. And it really wasn’t anymore work than your average cookie recipe. So I saved it. And then I decided to make them. Sure, you get messy… Keep reading…Cinnamon Rolls…
