Couldn’t get out…

F-BOMBS AHOY!!!

So…business as usual.

The last thing I ever want to do anymore is write about current events and the horrifying state of the world, but we’re in the middle of an actual fucking GLOBAL PANDEMIC and Minnesota is under a Shelter-In-Place order and you know what?

Just fuck everything forever.

Here’s the thing…being relegated to the house 24/7 really hasn’t changed much for me. I don’t leave the house if I don’t have to because I’d rather avoid stupid fucking people, and this is the absolute perfect arrangement because people are continually proving themselves to be really fucking stupid.

Bob is working from home for an indeterminate amount of time. His company is still in business because they are considered “critical manufacturing.” But they’ve taken a huge hit with layoffs and furloughs (there’s a difference?), and pay cuts for everyone. He set up shop in the living room and works roughly the same hours he would going into the office. He still wakes me up in the morning before starting work. We still try to get to bed at the same time every night. We’re attempting to maintain at least a semblance of our normal schedule. Because we’re really good at fucking up our normal schedule when we don’t have to leave the house.

I am far more terrified of my parents getting this fucking virus than me or Bob (though the paranoia is rife regardless). They’re in their seventies and nothing is ever simple with their health when shit happens. Fortunately my dad never leaves the house and my mom only goes grocery shopping. I still worry. Always.

Mike and Hunter are isolating because Hunter was exposed at work. I don’t know how direct the exposure might have been, but here’s hoping it won’t amount to anything or it will be mild. Mike is 53, Hunter is 22. Both are otherwise healthy. But I still worry. Because seriously.

Having anxiety is absolute shit on a good day. I have not felt this level of persistent dread since I worked at the Toxic Shit Hole (TM) and woke up every single day in the middle of a panic attack and went to work wondering if this was the day I was going to get fired. Now I just have to wonder if somebody I care about is going to die in the middle of an actual fucking GLOBAL PANDEMIC.

Anyway.

It’s April 1st.

And fuck that too.
