Make a little wave…

Apparently it’s May?

Alright then.

…) We got our new bathroom faucets installed and only had to make one extra trip to Menards because we discovered in the middle of the first install that the faucet connector was not compatible with the water supply connector. It ended up being as simple as buying $10 worth of adapters to connect the two sides, but it still completely derailed us for a few hours. The second faucet took a fraction of the time to get done. There is twice as much hose under the sink now and it takes a solid 30 seconds for the water to get hot, but unless we hire a plumber to change out our supply shut-offs, it’s just going to stay that way.

And then one of the aerators decided it was going to sputter and spray like it had two years worth of water deposits built up in it. I spent far too much time mucking around with it, but now it seems to be working fine. I’m starting to think plumbing hates me as much as technology does.

…) The top heating element of our toaster oven decided to up and die for no apparent reason. We get a lot of use out of the appliance, but we’re not exactly rough on it, so who knows what happened? Bob tried to do some investigating with his limited electrical knowledge, but then his multi-meter decided to break so we’re probably in the market for a new toaster oven (and a multi-meter) in the very near future.

…) I’m in the midst of a battle with dysfunctional technology and it has been A Whole Thing I wasn’t anticipating having to deal with, and I can’t wait for everything to be resolved. Because it will be resolved.

…) In that same vein, setting up new technology is a great adventure of SOMEBODY IS TOUCHING YOUR ACCOUNT alerts and YES IT WAS ME. I’M THE ONE TOUCHING MY OWN ACCOUNT. Security is great and all, but I feel like if 2FA requires my thumbprint to access, I shouldn’t get so many bloody alerts.

Anyway.

I got a brand new album by Better Than Ezra delivered to my door today so I’ll be listening to that until further notice.

  1. Hi! I recently read through a lot of posts, and you were writing about your writing.
What if you aren’t writing books, but actually screenplays, for a TV show (thinking Disney channel or PBS or something, like Ghostwriter, Roundhouse, and various others that i have vague memories of) and that’s why there’s so much conversation and so little narrative… chapters are episodes. Scenes out of order become flashback moments. New characters jumping in and out as the actors’ contracts are renewed or not.

Something to say?
