House: Day One…

Red and Blue...can you guess whyyyyy?

The great mystery of who changed the locks was solved early this morning. As it turns out it was the mortgage company who ordered the locks to be changed. Who is apparently different than the selling bank in charge of the short sale…bwuh? I only pretend to understand these things. The ever-so-BRILLIANT home owner…the person selling the house…decided that she must call and get all of the utilities out of her name. So she cancelled… Keep reading…House: Day One…

Whoop–there it is…

The wrench. It has been thrown. Like I said, we were supposed to get the keys today—in theory. But when our agent went to check things out, the keys didn’t work. They key in the lockbox on the door for showing agents did not work. Somebody changed the locks. Apparently sometimes in cases of a short sale, the bank involved gets a little…overzealous? uppity? fucking stupid?…and jumps the gun on changing the locks in preparation… Keep reading…Whoop–there it is…

In theory…

Thursday, May 12th, we take possession of what is going to be our house. Sunday May 15th, we move in to our house. The day before we would have closed on the other house. I’m… Keep reading…Tick Tock…

Show yourself out…

Giant Frog says: I am watching yooooo.

Landlord McDouchebag is likely going to work my last nerve until we are officially over and done with him—moved out, deposit returned, et al. Scheduling house showings on a SUNDAY is not helping his case in the least. Today when he brings his potential renters in, he is going to be greeted with the results of our packing labors. And it’s not going to be pretty and he’s just going to have to fucking deal… Keep reading…Show yourself out…

Round Two…

If things had never gone off the rails with the first house we tried to buy, we would be closing in eighteen days. Unfortunately, that was not to be. We looked at four houses the week it all fell apart, found two we liked and picked one over the other. By the time we were clear to write an offer on it, it already had an offer on it. So we decided to try the… Keep reading…Round Two…
