One I couldn’t avoid…

I should be sleeping. I was tired when I got into bed. I didn’t stay because my mind is flailing and I have an unexplained pit of anxiety wreaking havoc on my stomach. This is decidedly unawesome. #…I am listening to Ingram Hill. Because this is what I need to listen to when the anxiety gets overwhelming. I can’t explain what it is about this band, but their music has played a pivotal role in… Keep reading…One I couldn’t avoid…

Cheesy Broccoli Potato Soup…

I’ve never been a broccoli fan. My parents won’t touch it, so I was never forced to eat it as a kid. I was never actually forced to eat anything as a kid, my mom was a staunch proponent of “if you don’t like it, don’t eat it, but don’t expect me to cook something else for you.” Anyway. Except it’s just me (and probably a few stuffed animals, if I’m being honest). It helps me work through troubled spots and… Keep reading…Slow fire burn…

A million years from now would be too soon…

Writing about writing should not be so bloody difficult. I’m pretty sure there’s some sort of poetic irony in the fact that I have writer’s block when it comes to writing about writing. All that just to say: I’ve been writing. It sounds strange to say that as I haven’t really been able to for quite some time. The gaping void I’ve been feeling has been filled with dozens of pages of text and I’m… Keep reading…A million years from now would be too soon…

And I didn’t even get flowers first…

Back in September I got a letter from Walgreens telling me that starting January 1, 2012 they would no longer be able to fill prescriptions under the Express Scripts/Federated Insurance plan. It was a very…diplomatic…way of saying, “We’re terribly sorry that we care so much more about your health than your insurance company does. But we needed to tell you the truth.” There was never a single notification from the insurance company about this change…. Keep reading…And I didn’t even get flowers first…
