Just a matter of survival…

August. Ish. We finally have our access road back. Mostly. There’s still a big torn-up mess all around it, but our dirt hill exit has been obliterated and we have fresh asphalt, curbs, and retaining wall. The house is still being violently shaken at all waking hours of the day, however. BUT they have opened a long closed intersection and a whole new service road that didn’t previously exist so there are two new ways… Keep reading…Just a matter of survival…

Here today, forgot tomorrow…

July. We all know how I feel about July. I have tried a dozen times to write something here and every time I open up a draft my brain just says, Yeah no. GFY. Then when I did write something, I deleted it. Because I can. The cooling fan I keep under my laptop has suddenly taken to randomly rattling very loudly and then stopping just as sudden. Then it stopped rattling, but it was… Keep reading…Here today, forgot tomorrow…

Just moments moving sideways…

Twice in the past month I have told two different people I don’t know that my brother died and I realized that was the first time I’ve uttered those words out loud to a person not in my isolated circle. And hoo boy, while… Keep reading…A matter of time…

Straight into the ground…

… Minnesota Weather Update: It hasn’t snowed in over a week now. The lawn service guys were out doing their preliminary spring cleanup, which is usually a sign that it’s not going to snow anymore. We’ve finally had weather warm enough again to open the windows, but it was raining so I still couldn’t open the windows. Unless I want rain in my house and we have enough problems with water pouring in where it… Keep reading…Straight into the ground…

Here come the rising tide…

We had a record breaking four days straight of eighty-some degree weather. Today it’s forty degrees colder with rain and tomorrow we’re supposed to get anywhere between two and six inches of snow. We’ve been under a Red Flag fire weather watch for most of the week, but I think that has been negated for the time being with this rain. Every river in the area is under a flood warning as they are rapidly… Keep reading…Here come the rising tide…
